I want to start a beauty blog but I really have no idea how! What website should I use? What can I do to get myself out there? Share any advice please! :)
I would recommend Blogger.com through Google. You can purchase your own domain name if you'd like, but while just getting started I would recommend you wait. Come up with a unique blog name and definitely use Beautylish networking to get your blog out there! You can check out my beauty blog if you would like. http://www.4theloveofbeauty101.blog...
Hi!
So for website, the most popular are Blogger and Wordpress. I find more people use Blogger, but the only thing is that you need a Google account to use it. I agree with Jessica on the domain name, I suggest you wait until you're more popular before you buy a domain name.
I also suggest you make sure you have a good quality camera so you can take your own pictures. A lot of people (including myself) prefer seeing original photos.
As for getting yourself out there, you can comment on other people's blogs, use social media (I recommend Twitter the most) and make use of communities like Beautylish. Also, if you want to show people your looks, you can make tutorials on YouTube if you have a good-enough quality camera.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :)
I recently started blogging and I chose Blogger. I didn't have a clue about setting it up and decorating it but its really easy to do and like the others have said, most people use it so if you need a hand there are plenty of people willing to give you a few tips or advice.
I created a Twitter account for my blog which has really helped get people reading what I have to say. I also joined beauty websites such as BeautyLish and SheSaidBeauty.
I've taken on board the feedback and constructive criticisms from readers, such as adding photos (especially your own, not off a website) and not having too much on the page at once. Good luck and link us to your blog when you've started! :)
I would start with wordpress.com. You can upgrade to their more extensive .org version if you choose to purchase your own domain and it's far more powerful than the blogger platform.
Start with either Blogger or Wordpress. I'm on Blogger and I love it. Personalize your layout but make sure it's clean and readable. The best advice I can give is to comment on other people's blogs. They will be inclined to visit your blog and comment on your posts and some of their readers may venture over to your blog as well. Good luck! :)
