I have both large pores and blackheads, and I find that using Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask is AMAZING for both large pores, blackheads, and controlling oil. I use that twice a week, and I also scrub twice a week with Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser scrub! I find using these two products in tandem with my regular face wash is the perfect routine for me. For reference, I have sensitive/oily/acne prone skin.
I have the same problem on my nose. The blackheads there are intense. I find that the Pore Strips do NOTHING for me, personally. I've began using astringent, and I'm seeing a difference. Time, patience, and a good skincare system (along with a good astringent/toner) will do the trick!
Benefit also has a pore minimizing serum you should look into. But just so you know, the astringent/toner will help with that also.
There is no way to actually minimize pores. But you can minimize their appearance. They way to do that is to deep clean. Products with jojoba beads will definitely help. Then a product to help dry out the pore. Make sure you use a moisturizer after though!
i use burts bee's cream cleanser and their blemish stick works well for me plus rotating astrogent and too faced primed and poreless also works when doing your makeup to make you look flawless really hides tem best thing ive used on my wedding day.

I love Biore's pore strips. Also there's Benefit's POREfessional.
