I recently came across someone on a beauty page making comments about how making eyeshadows into lipsticks is highly dangerous because the shadows are specially formulated to be used only on the eyes not to be ingested (because we all eat our lipstick right? *sarcasm* :p), its toxic and the worst kind are green and blue shades because they are even more dangerous.
So what I'm wondering is, is there any proof to back this up or is it yet another uneducated remark? Tell me your thoughts beauties...
there is nothing that is safe to put on your eye yet dangerous if ingested in tiny quantities. This person was probably confused because different countries have different rules for eyeshadow formulas, and there's a fairly constant level of chatter in beauty communities about those standards and what they mean.
Lipsticks are created from pigments. Pigments create eyeshadows. This person is being dramatic. If they are THAT concerned about safety, they should be more concerned about the standard ingredients in mascaras. There are scarier things than eyeshadows.
