I've still been searching for the perfect foundation shade and I think I may have had some hits but I'm really confused about the descriptions of undertones and shades. I got a colour match from no7 who said that I was Warm Ivory and this is is great for me, however I also tried Maybelline Dream Cushion in the shade Nude and this is also a great match for me. When I've seen other brands with the same names the shades look so different. I was just wondering if one brands description of Warm Ivory was the same for all other brands? Thank you to anyone getting back to me. I'm a newbie when it comes to shades and undertones.

Brands never describe/name their shades the same as other brands. Most brands (like Tarte for example) name their shades so that if you're one shade in one foundation then you'd be the same shade in another foundation from their brand (so if you wore Light Medium Neutral in the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation then you'd be Light Medium Neutral in the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation). You're going to be a different shade in pretty much every brand.

Thank you for your reply! It's so frustrating when having to look for different shades with different brands - I actually used a website that compared similar foundation tones and ended up getting Mac's pro longwear foundation in a tone that was way too warm and dark for me. It will teach me next time to get a face to face consultation.
