I am just curious, what are some of the best products that some of you find best to use for your skin type? Something that is long wear and doesn't seem to be cakey by the end of the day.
Also, any tips on what the best foundation is to use for traditional makeup for the same reasons above?

My 2 absolute favorite foundations are Estée Lauder double wear and L'Oréal infallible pro matte for my oily skin. Both of these have a beautiful finish and last all day on me.
With those I just use an e.l.f. Primer, L'Oréal or RCMA powder to set, and then use a setting spray to take away any powderiness:) my current setting spray is MUFE mist and fix, but I switch up my primer and spray all the time because I have yet to find any I don't really like!

My rotation includes
Urban Decay Naked Skin
MUFE Face and Body (Currently changed to waterblend)
YSL Touche Eclat Foundation
RCMA
I use either the RCMA powder or Koh Gen Do to set my make up. If I need my make up to go through the whole day I prime with Hourglass Mineral Veil :)

I have oily skin and for pictures I like either the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, Pro longwear Nourishing Waterproof or the Kryolan Dermacolor
SFF is a nice medium build able foundation that photographs nicely.
PLANE offers similar coverage, longer wearing and a bit more skin like
Dermacolor is more full coverage and one of the few cream foundations I feel work for oily skin with out as much work. It gives more coverage than the MAC ones since it is a cream.
For normal to dry skin the RCMA does work more easily

I'm oily, and these are my favourite foundations: Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation, Armani Lumnious Silk, CHANEL Aqualumiere Creme Compact and ByTerry Cover Expert. I rotate depending on weather, in Canada, the Winter is super harsh, and the summers very hot and humid, that's why I have so many bases. Also, for what I call, bad skin day's, like today, the Cover Expert really made me look extra flawless, even though I was just going to the grocery store and a few other very boring places (I never go out without makeup and hair, ever) Powder, CHANEL loose or the Koh Gen Do Manifeshi loose powder I think it's called, both set the foundation and make me look flawless for a good 8 hours. If you go over to the beautyprofessor.net, she has I think the best blog and swatches on foundations on the internet. Great thing about her is that she's a perfect match for my skin tone, and I can buy "blind" now, and have perfect foundation, which is so amazing seeing as I live in a smaller city that just closed their full service Guerlain counter (WTF?!)
