I've tried a considerable amount of stuff for my mildish acne... And I finally found the solution. Put down the harsh chemicals and pick up CeraVe restoring and superhydrating cleanser. (Like $10 for a huge container)!
Wash with that every night (I even use it after school... That's how gentle it is!), and then follow up with a quality witch hazel astringent or apple cider vinegar!
This has worked wonders for me... Once I stopped with the acids and sulfurs and just went natural, I stopped breaking out within a week!
Sorry this was so long, I'm just excited about my clear skin, haha! Good luck girl!
