Anybody who would care to share any remedies for the common cold? I have a friend coming over tomorrow and I don't want her to catch my sickness!

Yeah. If your throat hurts drink some honey lemon water (warm water, a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice, and a spoonful of honey). Other than that there really isn't any thing you can do except rest. Oh and make sure you drink LOTS of water. Your body just has to do its thing. As for your friend, if you are sick in bed she should NOT come over. If you are well enough to go to school/work then I think you'll be fine. Just make sure she's okay with it! Feel better!

I rely on Zinc Lozenges. But they usually work only when you take them at the beginning of a cold. I say drink a lot of fluids, wash your hands a lot and warn your friend to try not to touch anything in your house, not to touch her hands to her face and to also wash his or her hands frequently. I don't really think you can rush getting over a cold once you're in the middle of it, but you can you things to not prolong it, if that makes any sense.
