I was talking to a friend whose 22yrs old and she was complaining about her concealer creasing no matter which one she used or her method. I on the other hand am a woman of a "certain age", and although I don't have any lines under or around my eyes, never crease. So she asked me why I never get creasy. Although I can't be definitely sure on why, I told her what I use, my method and all that. We came to the conclusion (although not proven yet) we think it might be because she was applying foundation allover her face including under her eyes, then concealer, then highlighter, then powder. I asked her why she felt the need to apply foundation under her eyes, when she knew she was just going to apply concealer and highlighter there anyway. I never apply foundation under my eyes, because I know I'm going to apply concealer anyway. She's going to try not using foundation under her eyes and see how it goes. Got me wondering how many others use foundation under their under eye concealer). How many of you apply foundation under your concealer?

I do! I figure the foundation will cover some of my darkness straight away and the I don't have to use as much concealer. Tbh my dark circles still show no matter what concealer I use though.

Angela, does your concealer ever get creasy?

I have the same issue, foundation or not, mine always creases. I have tried every method and setting powder. I need help too.

Oh I had this issue for a long time. Recently I've gone to not using foundation under my eyes, just concealer and brightner. It seems to help a bit. What's also helped is the way I apply the setting powder there. I used to use a brush, now I pick up the powder with a damp beauty blender. I've noticed a slight decrease in the lines under my eyes. If all else fails I do a super smokey eye so I can cover it with eyeshadow!  ;-)

Hi, I also do foundation under my eyes. I'll try without next time because it does crease slightly.

I don't apply foundation under my eyes only concealer but if I use maybelline fit me concealer it will crease if I don't set it lightly with powder.

I apply foundation under my eyes and it never creases only if my undereyes are really dry or if I'm using a thick concealer

I think it's probably a combination of factors that contributes to creasing. The product, the amount used, the method of application, skintype, wrinkles, primer/eye cream used underneath, if any, other products that are layered on top of the concealer, the types of products, amount of layered products, method of application of those products, your skin's reaction to those products, the environment and sweat level (are you active). And the because everyone is different, it's going to be hard to create the perfect regimen to eliminate the creasing. Its all trial & error. But I know it's possible, because I never crease. Well, there was one one
concealer that got a tad creasy and it was a Sonia Kashuk one. But the ones I use now (I alternate depending on the look I'm going for). Tarte Maracuja Creaseless, L.A.Girl Pro and Kevyn Aucoun Sensual Skin Enhancer never crease on me.

There is also different type of concealors you can use. I noticed that a concealor that is in a stick is very cakey as opposed to a liquid concealor. The other girls are right, try not applying foundation underneath the eyes and see if that helps. Also try some skincare products that are suited for the eyes to keep that smooth wrinkle free complexion.

I can't apply foundation under my eyes either. It's too much product on my skin. I use a concealer and then powder. I haven't had a crease in years!! I also think that is the trick.

I find stick far too dry for under eyes. My favorite to use is the maybelline fit me. I believe it's a dupe for Nars creamy concealer.

I have very fair/translucent, delicate skin so any too much makeup looks horrible on me.

Danielle, I agree on the stick concealer. Too thick for my thin, delicate eye area. Some people can go overboard on everything and still not crease, but for rest of us, finding the right combination of "non creasing concealer" factors can be challenging. Looks like you found yours! I too, don't like a lot of makeup. I think when girls watch all these so called beauty "gurus" on youtube, they think that's the way you're supposed to realistically wear makeup. But, they're actually doing film/video/photography makeup and if you saw them in real life, they're makeup would looked caked on.

I always struggled with creases forming under my eyes until I started using Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer. I've been using it for a while now and I haven't had a problem. I even apply a layer of foundation! I definitely recommend this concealer if they haven't already tried it!!

Jayce, I also like the Maracuja. But, I'm currently using L.A Girl Pro Concealer. It's very much like the Maracuja one except it's $3.00 and I prefer the shade range with LA Girl. LA Girl has the perfect shade for me because not only does it match my skintone, it also has a touch of peach in it, so I don't need a corrector. I would say the Maracuja one is a tinier bit moisterizing than La Girl , but it really doesn't make much difference aesthetically. It only takes a miniscule amount of powder to set it. But I could actually get away with not setting it.
