So I'm starting a job working for my state government office and I'm stumped at how to do my makeup for the professional workplace and still be true to my style, which is pretty Gothic. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

First, how old are you and what do you usually wear for makeup?

I'm thirteen but usually I wear a full face with dark lips and lots of eyeliner.

Not to judge but how are you thirteen and working for the state? Lol.

I'm a working professional and I think you should be more conservative. Your makeup looks great in your picture. Keep it simple, and don't go dramatic at all. Your an intern and don't want to draw too much attention to yourself and your personal appearance. I was a Human Resource Manager for a few years and was in charge of hiring for different departments. I love makeup and am totally into the grunge look, but it's not for some work places. If you worked at Hot Topic, you could be as edgy as you wanted, but working in government you need to keep it a little more conservative! Good luck girl, that's an awesome opportunity!

I agree with Nikol, there are some companies that are very open with their dress/makeup/hair policy but government work is not one of them. The natural the better in this case.

I agree with the ladies above. Some jobs do require certain dress and makeup. I don't think a gothic look would be appropriate for a workplace such as yours. Keep it simple!

Keep it conservative. You can still be you toned down and feel good about yourself. Making a good impression as a professional as young as you are will be great for the future! Good luck!

Littlest bit of eyeliner, a toned down red lip and your good to go.
