So I have a really red face. But I use the too faced born this way foundation so it does a pretty good job covering it. I've recently have wanted to get into bronzer but it seems that every bronzer I try it ruins my foundation when I try to blend it out by showing my red skin. (I've tried blending with a brush and a beauty blender and both make my face red in the area I blended in) what should I do to prevent this?

Do you set your foundation with a translucent (or skin toned if you opt for more coverage) powder before you apply bronzer?

This doesn't relate to the bronzer problem, but have you tried a green primer to counteract redness? I have bad acne and my skin is very irritated and red, and a green primer helps a lot :) my favorite one is from Make Up For Ever.

@Isabella D.
I haven't tried that! I do own the Tarte setting powder. Would that help?
And I've tried many green primers. The MUFE primer did nothing for me. The best one I've tried so far is the smashbox green primer and that still doesn't cover my redness completely.

You should definitely be setting your foundation before applying your bronzer. It will help with no moving the product around so the redness won't come through.

Is it possible that the bronzers that you have used had red undertones in them? Because I have about 6 bronzers & 3 of them have red undertones. Maybe try a really neutral one like Nars Laguna or possibly Too Faced. Too Faced have a variety of bronzers, with different undertones.

Also, imo, green primers don't have enough pigment to counteract moderate to severe redness. I would suggest trying the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness corrector. It's a yellow tone which I've always heard was better for larger areas od redness. Also, try applying your bronzer very lightly, don't buff it in, like I see a lot of girls doing. I like the Sonia Kashuk #9 Blush Brush for soft application of blush, bronzer and powder.

If your foundation still moves when you go to apply the bronzer, the only other thing I can think of is to apply the foundation and powder and then mist your face with a setting spray, wait till it dries and then apply bronzer. Hopefully you'll just be able to set with translucent powder and you'll be good :) hope I helped! :)
