I know both are great, but which do y'all prefer and why?

I like both but lean more towarda Maybelline Fit me. It just keeps me matte longer and is pretty full coverage yet doesn't feel heavy on the skin.

As far as formula I think they're quite similar.
The L'orèal true match being a light/medium-buildable coverage whereas the Maybelline is a medium coverage that is buildable.
Maybelline is more matte whereas the L'orèal is more of a semi-matte.
The L'orèal one feels more lightweight.
It also has quite a bit more shades.
I think I lean more toward the L'orèal

I haven't tried loreal however I like the Maybelline fit me dewy and smooth!
I wanted to try a drugstore foundation because I was tired of spending so much on something I use so often, I found this and I'm really happy!!

I have both matte and both dewy versions. maybelline wins for the matte version only because I haven't been able to wear the Loreal more than 2 or three times. there are glitter particles in the original loreal true match that are way too obvious for me. the Loreal wore well when I had oily skin, as in didn't separate or transfer and it wasn't too drying/powdery as some matte formulas can be for me. but I hated the way it looked and I couldn't wait to get it off every time I tried to wear it, the glitters were just too much every time I looked at myself up close. and they don't show up until it dries so it was just a bad surprise. the maybelline smells strongly of alcohol but it goes away as it dries. that worried me a bit but it never broke me out or caused me burning, redness, etc.
for the dewy versions it's a real close call. I would have to go with the Loreal though because it is lighter feeling and more moisturizing. the maybelline dewy and smooth was a bit more dewy looking but it didn't do any better on dy patches (they both do really well on dry flakes)

I love the look of the Maybelline fit me matte but it broke me out terribly! Most people don't have that problem but just beware if you have more acne prone skin :)
