Why Is My Contour Patchy?

When I apply my contour it looks fine at first, but after a few hours it goes really patchy and looks awful. I've tried everything. I've changed my skincare routine, my primer, my foundation, my contour palette, and my method of applying it. I religiously use a primer and always set my foundation before contouring. I have tried cream contour instead of powder. I've tried applying with different brushes, a beauty blender, and even my finger. I've had girls at work apply it for me (I work at Sephora), and I've even had professional makeup artists give it a try. It all looks flawless at first, but after a few hours it becomes gross looking and patchy. Any suggestions?!

Do you set your cream contour with a powder contour?

I have the same problem, mine looks fine in artificial light but very patchy in natural sun light.

My skin type is quite dry with some acne scarring texture in the area. I do take care of my skin and hydrate it well (proper cleanser, regular exfoliation, hydrating masks, nude rescue oil and Clinique moisturizer or Murad SPF moisturizer). My usual primer is Hourglass Veil, and my regular foundation is Laura Mercier Silk Creme oil free. I have tried several other primers including Smashbox and Makeup Forever, as well as other foundations. My typical method is the Sephora collection contour palette with a contour brush, but I have tried both creams and other powders, as well as different brushes and beauty blenders to apply. I have switched up everything I can possibly think of.
