Hey beauties!
I have been using the oil cleansing method for about 3-4 weeks now my skin just went crazy and I am full of acne on my jawline :( (I am acne prone).
I waited as I thought it's normal, but it's getting worse. I read that coconut oil is highly comedogenic... So I stopped using coconut oil.

Although I love the idea of taking off my makeup will oils, but it's not working for me...

I read that hemp seed oil is better for OCM as it's non comedogenic, have you ever tried it? Now I am a bit scarred..

Even if it's non comedongenic, doesn't mean you can't have an adverse reaction to it. You may be sensitive to oils. Or you may want to try a actual cleansing oil that's made for facial cleansing. May I ask why you want to use an oil in the first place, when you have acne prone skin? Not that acne prone skin can't use oils, but when you already have reactive skin, you have to be extra careful of what you put on your face.

I take off my makeup with almond oil mixed with witch hazel toner but I always wash it off with facial cleanser next. You can still cleanse your face with an oil but just follow with a cleaner afterward. The ocm never worked for me I ended up getting clogged pores all over :(

I use OCM twice a week to be on safer side and use almond oil for it. Initially I used it every other day but my skin didn't like it but now it's fine :)

Thanks girls! I heard about the method and I just wanted to try. It's also nice to know that it is natural and there are no chemicals added. I might try with a lighter oil instead and not using it regularly if it's still not working I will just give up...

I have acne-prone skin and I oil cleanse!
However, I use cleansers that are formulated for oil cleansing because they rinse off like a milk cleanser with no residue and they typically have more beneficial ingredients than just using coconut oil.
For example, one of my oil cleansers is by NUDE and it has Omega 3,6,9,&5, Passion fruit oil, Vitamin C, Kalahari Melon Seed Oi, Cranberry Seed Oil, and Pomegranate Seed Oil.
Another oil cleanser I love is L'Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil which uses Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, and Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil.

I actually double cleanse when I oil cleanse.. first I use a balm cleanser (Clinique's cleansing balm) and then follow with oil cleansing. It's very important to get off as much make up, sunscreen, etc.on your first cleanse. I follow with my quality oil cleanser after!

Thank you for letting me know your routine Kitty, it was really helpful! I will try to find the oil cleansers recommended by you. Also, I have used it to take off my makeup so I massaged the oil into my face while I had makeup on then I used a warm wash cloth to remove it. Probably was not a good idea and I will try to use a bar or makeup remover first.

I have not actually cleaned my face with a cleanser after the oil. I will try but with a different oil as I am scarred of coconut oil now :))

It's really hard to find the best for your skin... I have tried sooo many things now, but still struggling with acne at the age of 25! :(

I use a mix of avocado, almond and castor. It cleaned my pores so well, no breakouts.

Oh I can completely relate Shannie :) I cannot leave my house without makeup and green concealer is my best friend! I get breakouts before my period which leaves me with ugly red marks around my chin and jawline.. Then once they look a bit better it's starting all over again. It's a vicious circle... I might visit a dermatologist as my last resort:)

Thanks Nathalie, may I kindly ask if you have acne prone skin? The combo sounds great!

Bettyna, sorry for the wait. My skin is very dry and I get the occasional cyst on my forehead when I'm stressed out. I would suggest that you patch test. Start simple with only one oil, if it doesn't work you will know the culprit.
