I'm about to start my YouTube channel! Finally, I've been saying I was going to start for the past 5 years but it's official now, (I'll be positing my first video on Friday April 22 my name is @TheRoyallLife I'll come back and post the link) but I was wondering if anyone on here does YouTube. If so, do you have any tips for how to grow? And if you check out my channel once I have videos up and like it, could we possibly collab? I'm really excited and I would love any and all advice that you guys can give! Also if you just watch YouTube videos, what are your favorite types to watch? And what are your suggestions for my first video? Thanks in advance guys for all of your help and support.

Hi Codi, I know so many on here do have YouTube channels and I'm so surprised you hadn't gotten any feed back. I hope you get feed back soon. Best of luck on your channel. :)

Congrats on finally taking the leap and making a channel! I was pretty nervous about my first video but it came out fine and I had fun doing it. It'll be weird for a little bit talking to a camera but you'll get used to it. It's always important to be yourself, viewers respond well to people who are genuine.

Don't feel that you have to have the absolute best equipment from the get-go, everyone starts somewhere so a regular point and shoot camera set up in front of a window is perfectly fine. I had done YouTube for about a year before finally getting a nice DSLR camera and my next goal is a ring light so I'm working towards making my content the absolute best it can be but I'm making the most of what I have now.

As for growing, make content consistently. As a viewer, I unsubscribe from channels that don't regularly upload. Put your social media in the descriptions of your videos so your viewers can interact and see you on other platforms. I'll mention when I post a video on snapchat and Instagram and post the link to my new video on Twitter, tumblr, and my Facebook page so viewers that follow me there can see that I've uploaded and people that already follow you on those platforms see that you're a content creator. Promote yourself within your means.

Good luck and have fun!

Congrats on starting your channel! As for growing, it’s really really hard to say. There are some basic things you can do like sharing your videos on other social media accounts (Instagram, twitter, facebook, and link your channel to beautylish…) but most of all it just takes a lot of time. Be yourself. Don’t worry about being awkward and nervous at first. We all are and I still am sometimes. lol I can’t really collab with anyone right now because I’m having some health issues and barely have time to post lately but If you ever need any help feel free to message me anytime. :)
