What is the difference between the two.

I believe baylage is more freehand and the hair stylist has more freedom with wear to place the color and ombre is a steady transition from dark to light - I'll see if I can find pix that better explain it.

Ombre is when the hair fades to a lighter color it's a gradual fade where as baylage can look more natural and sunkissed, it's a form of highlights but the placement is different and the technique is as well. the stylist uses a brush to paint on the color in vertical strokes and a feathering motion so there aren't harsh lines. I personally prefer baylage, when I do lighten my hair that's what I do.

Ok thank you ladies! I have an ombré but want to get the bayalage, it's so pretty!
