Hey ladies and gents

I have had really bad stretch marks since 15. recently I have gained about 10 pounds and they have gotten worse. they are along my love handles and they are dark and ugly. I went to see a dermatologist and they said laser removal would be the best option but cause I have brown skin they can gareentee it will work. does anyone know of a way to get rid of stretch marks on brown skin?

You could try coco butter but the only was to loose them would be through laser removal as your derm said. You have to go to a laser specialist tho. Don't let your derm or a plastic surgeon do it.

Oh & I've had mine since age 14/15 as well. They have lightened on their own. I don't know how lol.

Have you looked into derma rolling? I just started using it so I can't say I've seen any improvements but there's a lot of good reviews and info that you can look up about it.

I had some from weight gain and after I lost weight they became the same color as my skin instead of looking like scars - so to me they basically disappeared - but you can try mederma - it's supposed to be made specifically to fade scars and stretch marks.

And like with Demetria - since the stretch marks are basically scarred tissue our bodies try to heal itself on its own - so they may go away over time too - just depends on how your body heals itself.

I would try using a derma-roller
