This happens to me when I shave, but when I wax it doesn't.

Instead of using moisturiser I use coconut oil since it's such sensitive skin. Also I shave with the grain then against the grain.

I actually like shaving. I don't know if that's weird or not, but it's so fast and easy and I love the feeling of smooth legs. but before I liked shaving, I actually hated it and would rarely shave. soon enough, I had started track season and now I have been forced to shave everyday or every other day. what I do now [which I actually like] is:
1.) shaving cream. it's so easy and fun to apply. it is also very affordable. shaving cream will just give you a closer shave and save you from some of those horrible razor cuts.
2.)shave upwards. I used to shave downwards, but when you shave downwards you aren't actually removing all the hairs. don't get me wrong. you still remove some, but you don't remove all of the hair. I have recently switched to shaving upwards and it has changed my life. I always have really smooth legs that are 100% free of hair!
3.) exfoliate. ow love exfoliating after I'm done shaving because it makes my legs feel really smooth!
4.) moisturize. I don't know about you, but after I shave, my legs get very dry and patchy.

Use lotion after the shaving :)

Actually Katelyn, shaving upward can create irritation, because it's not the way your hair actually grows. Now, if you were having this problem with your legs for example, you should pull upwards. However, it's a very sensitive area "down there" and if you don't remove each and every hair, so be it. And I believe katelyn was talking about legs...

I get this problem too nothing has really helped I would just advise you to not scratch it when it's itchy as it makes it worse! And wear loose trousers and underwear preferably cotton for a day after you've shaved! That really helps for me!

Ok honestly you can shave against the grain if you want. I do and have never gotten a razor bump with this trick. after you're done shaving swipe the area with witch hazel or alcohol. it will sting a bit but do this for the next two days after you shave and follow with some lotion. I promise no itch no bumps.

I really like Eos of Creamo (its mens but it works really good) shaving cream. I have found that can make a big difference. Also maybe try a different razor, they actually make special razors for the bikini area so that might work out better for you. As for lotions go for something simple like Jergens, Aveeno, or Nivea, you don't want anything with fragrances because that will just irritate your skin more. I don't exfoliate and I have no issues, all I do is wait to shave at the end of a bath or shower, because the longer you are in hot water, the easier its going to be to shave.

I stopped itching after a while of shaving. Also, never ever shave upwards. I made that mistake to get rid of all of the hair but I got so many ingrown hairs and bled and it was so incredibly uncomfortable. I've found that lotion afterwards helps, but it's very important that it isn't scented and is very gentle. Itching is common, especially if you've just started but it typically goes away with time :)

I exfoliate first with a loofah and nivea body wash, then I shave up wards which I aaalways have and never had a problem. if you shave with the grain you will not be smooth at all, I don't even understand how people shave with the grain as for me it feels like I didnt even shave. I shave that area every 2 or 3 days and always against the grain , I never have ingrown hairs or itch or any of that. exfoliate and then slowly shave upward in single strokes. I dry off then finish with baby powder. never had a problem

Don't shave everyday, I find that it helps if I shave about every two weeks :)
