Hii beauties so I finally dyed my hair purple. I used 40 volume developer and the color adore purple rage but my problem is that my hair is nowhere near as bright as I wanted it. it looks black again! with a purple tint. I didnt think this was possible since I bleached my hair to blonde before applying the dye. but once a rinsed out the dye I was left with dark hair again :( my question is, is there a way that I can brighten the color without bleaching again and using a different dye? I still have dye left if that helps anything.

You could use the rest of the dye and dye it again.

I tried that they day I first dyed it but my hair was already dark again from the first time so it didn't make a difference :( it actually looked a little less purple to me the second time.

Dang, that's horrible. All I can say is look for a product that will dye on dark hair, I got to red in two tries with a box dye. The first time it came out with only a red tint, but the second time it was red. Dye isn't as damaging as bleach, so I recommend dying it as many times as you have to. Unless going to a professional is an option, it wasn't for me and I figured it out myself.

Hmmm. I googled the brand and from what I can see they're calling it a semi permanent color. Most unnatural colors are demi permanent and are veggie dyes but I don't know what this one is. If you got your hair to a yellow blonde before you dyed it you might be able to life the color with some vitamin c and shampoo but if the dye is truly semi permanent than I think you'll either have to strip the color or do a bleach bath.

Try this and see how it works. It might lift most of the color. No unnatural color is truly permanent anyways, so it should wash out after a month or so. Next time you might want to try manic panic, or something else that's a little less permanent. If you want to commit try the pravana hair dyes

When I color, I usually just use a manic panic. It's usually really dark and blends with my black hair for a day or two but gradually washes into a more desirable color. Maybe that's kind of what yours is about to do.
