How to dye only the top of your hair.

I want to dye my hair like this but my hair is already the colour on the bottom half so how would I dye only the top half and avoid getting it all over the bottom half of my hair?

As in dying your roots? use a hair color brush and don't put the color on the part you don't want dyed

Put the color all over your roots and just drag it down from there and when you get to the middle of your hair, turn your brush sideways and streak it down so it blends a bit better instead of a straight line of dark to light. I hope that made sense?

If your wanting it a specific way, I'd go get it done so you don't have to worry about lines.

I can't afford to get it done but from what Nicole has said and videos I've watched I have a pretty good idea of how to do it
