Should try a brightening cream. Some BB creams are brightening so you should look into that.

Is it still dry? The fact that it stings makes it seem like the skin is broken, so I would avoid applying treatments or makeup products. Try gently exfoliating to remove dead skin and then a thick, healing moisturizer. Once it is healed, brightening products may help with the discoloration, as will daily sunscreen.
