I have a photo shoot coming up to get head shots taken. I need recommendations for a setting powder that won't cause flash-back and will look great up close. Also, if you have any recommendations for lip colors that would be helpful too. I have a dark skin tone. About nw45 in Mac.

Any makeup will work nothing causes flash it truly comes down to your own application. :)

I second Alma's advice. Light handed application with the powder. As far as lipstick goes...since this a headshot you will want to stick to a natural lippie...nude is best. Headshot are not the moment to go buck wild with a lip color because they obviously want to see your features...not makeup dominating. Some shades worth looking into from MAC Honey Love, Velvet Teddy, Jubilee, Freckletone, Touch. Paired up with MAC lip pencil in chestnut or cork...gorgeous. I once had all this shades and a few more nude lippies from MAC before I Back to MAC them or else I'd show you some swatches. But for reference I'm in the NC45 range. Good luck on your photoshoot. So gorgeous the camera will love you.

I notice that if I wear the wrong undertone for my foundation it makes me look like a ghost so that's probably why sometimes there's a white cast? Also I don't think mineral foundations are good for photos. I might be wrong but I don't look all that flawless using mineral foundation. RCMA no color powder is a good light setting powder don't use too much to set.

Nothing HD. You will look like you have been assaulted with baby powder.

@alma am & Shelley w. Thanks for the tips. I was just afraid of white cast because I used an hd powder one time and it gave me major flash back. I think I'll do a test run with all my powders tonight to see which on looks best. @shelley w. I have freckletone and it looks horrible on me. I think it's because it's too yellow for my undertone and too light for my skin-tone— double whammy lol. Thank you so much☺️

Tierrah you're welcome :) keep in mind HD is for photography and TV it's completely fine to use just don't over powder and make sure your skin isn't dry Because it will stick to dry patches.

@Livi H. My foundation is actually perfect for me and it looks good in photography. I used it before for headshots. The only thing I'm really worried about is the setting powder😁 yeah I'm not one for mineral powders either. I'm a liquid type of girl lol. I'll check into rcma. Is that online only? Thanks for your input.

Do you think a yellow toned powder would help?
