I've had really bad back and chest acne for a year or two. I've tried several products, some works for a while but my acne always ended up coming back. Any suggestions?

Shower daily. Maybe try wearing more halter/loose tops if you can. Once you find a product that works (if your not) keep using it for as long as you can. Use it for months if you can and have to. The only other thing I can think of doing would be to see a dermatologist if you are able to.

Have you tried using cetaphil face wash on your body or the soap bar and then the cetaphil moisturiser afterwards.

I agree with the opinions above - try to wear cotton or some other breathable fabric. Shower a lot to get rid of dirt clogging your pores. Do you sweat a lot? Carry some wipes with you and use them if you need to. Some people break out when sweat sits on their skin.

I've also heard that African black soap works well - it's made for skin issues such as acne and even psoriasis. I just saw some the other day in Walmart, so I'm guessing it's pretty affordable. I know you can get a bar at Walgreen's for $5.

I went through a period where my anxiety got really bad and I always break out from stress so my chest broke out really bad and I used dial acne control wash, I showered every day and it went away after a few weeks, I am not sure if it would work with you, considering mine had a trigger and yours was on going.

I had the exact same problem for almost five years! Usually chest and back acne is purely hormonal, not caused by your hygiene (I'm sure you keep yourself clean). The ONLY thing that ever worked for me was taking birth control. Since back and chest acne is usually caused by your body creating too much testosterone, taking birth control pills helps decrease the testosterone and causes your body to produce more estrogen, causing the acne to go away. I've tried just about every type of cream or ointment or at home treatment, but unfortunately these types of things cannot cure the source of the problem. I know birth control isn't for everyone, but if you are looking for a last resort, it works wonders and really helps cure the root of the problem. Go to any local dermatologist and they will be able to prescribe you one based on the condition of your skin.
