Hmm I agree your eyes look bigger with colors that aren't as dark but with the smokey eye I can't even really see it cause it seems like you have hooded eyes that hide it when your eyes are open - but I'm with you in that hooded eyes are the worst for a smokey eye - I much prefer a gradient eye myself - they open up the eyes much more and are better suited to the hood :P.

I've tried even just having the outside corners shaded darker and it's just as yucky. Lol not meant to have this trend. I try and keep my lower lid as bare as I can mostly because it closes my eyes. Oh well, not the end of the world.

Lol Anh, I used to think that maybe it's like glasses and I just have to get used to it but I've always been bummed out every single time. Maybe a different color smokey eye 😕. Anyone else have something they can't seem to pull off?

I get what you mean, but at the same time you look fierce my girl!! Daymn! And for me it's bright colours. I love them but I can't do them justice. I think it's because I'm soo used to nudes and neutrals and blacks that as soon as I put colour to my lid I feel crazy self conscious

That green you did though looked good. Did you try any new colors from the other day? Lol I seriously dislike the dark makeup thing which sucks cause I like having an edgey look, but there are other ways. I'm even considering black lipstick, but not sure I could feel comfortable ever wearing it in public 😞

Oh my gawd, I think you'd look damn sexy in black lippie! But I LOVE the lippie in your proffy! Stunning. No words about it. No I didn't. Today I just did a nude shadow with winged liner. I felt very uninspired. Going to have to pinterest it up. I think my hang up is that I live in a small small town where all the ladies don't wear make up and when they do it's very very minimal, so when I do wear colourful makeup I stand out all the more and I really really don't like people looking at me haha.

Oh and falsies!! I love falsies 😍 but I can't do it. I make a mess of my face and they are never lined up right :( haha.

Oh lol I can see your struggle in drawing too much attention to yourself then. I used to do falsies well but I can't seem to any longer. Which I guess is alright because my real lashes flatten out when I do. Thanks for the reminder 😆

Yeah I can never get the cut crease to work cause like you I have the hood but also have no crease... So I don't know how to draw the crease for a cut crease when I have no crease to follow lol.

I wish I had an idea on what you mean, I didn't know eye styles were more than just being a lid lol, Plus, one of my eyes sags a bit more than the other, including my eyebrow so it's maddening trying to even them out.

I have a similar problem but I think it more in my application than my eye.. Haha but yeah there are different eye shapes and different looks can compliment them - there are things you can google like eye makeup for hooded eyes or tutorials by Wayne goss that have looks for different eyes.

Oh my gosh Ashlee! I knew eyes where shaped different but I didn't know it meant different application and styles of makeup! Not until I came here haha. I still have no idea what my eyes are haha I just wing it everyday 😉

Diana you're such a huge help! I'll be sure to look into that, thank you! Yea, Raylene I knew there were basic shapes like almond and whatnot but didn't know it went into subcategories lol, looks like we have done homework!

I guess it's for the best Sarah, a more natural look is always pretty too! Lol but it's nice to be versatile...

I'm the same way. I have similar features (pale skin, dark hair, hooded dark eyes) and it's not a good look on me either! It's basically impossible to do a great smokey eye look on hooded eyes. I never wear eyeliner or anything but a little mascara on my lower eyes. I always do a nude eye look (kind of more gradient I think) or else I look like a clown. I think any color beside nudes look awful! You're lucky you can pull off a nude lip! I personally can't as I look like a corpse Lol. You look great for 33 weeks pregnant!
