During the fall/winter months I usually color my hair red and during the spring/summer I like it to be golden brown (always done on my own at home)
so my problem this time around is that the red does not want to come out! 😭
I usually just use a temporary rinse since my hair is lighter in the summer but for some reason I couldn't get the deep red that I wanted and ended up using permanent dye (months ago)
... soooo... now I've used Color Fix.. twice... and my hair is still RED 😝
what should I do if I want my hair lightened?
thanks beauties!

Go to a professional. If it's a permenant dye and it's red (red is generally more difficult to remove from your hair) then it's going to take a lot to get it out I would go to a salon, color corrections are expensive but it's the least damaging way to remove the dye. Trying to bleach the color out at home won't eliminate the undertones and you could fry your hair if you do it incorrectly.

If going to a professional isn't an option or you're like me and never want to go back due to a terrible experience. Just buy the bleach stuff and do it yourself. The undertones won't be a problem if you tone them after bleaching. It's honestly not that hard and I'm sure you, out of all people, could do it.

Thank you both for your feedback!
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place..I don't want to spend the money at the salon but I don't want to end up bald at home lol
thanks again!

Deep conditioner and protein masks will be your best friends during the process! Good luck!

I just bleached my hair to go auburn (I dyed my hair brown over a deep red) but decided I didn't want the dark red undertones anymore and one bleach was pretty good at removing most of what I wanted to and left my hair a light orange colour, which overall is what I was aiming for so if stripper isn't working I think a low volume bleach would be okay, if it doesn't take it all out you can try to tone down the orange colours with a blue toner or shampoo :)

Or you could try and use an ash brown of some kind to neutralise the red tones. :)

Thanks Shaye!
I've been reading up in Loreal Color Zap. it looks pretty scary but do you think that would help?

I haven't used that particular product, however I've looked into it also and I do think something like that may help. :)
