The notorious beauty blender.

I want to buy a beauty blender to see what the hype is about. I think it might be a good way to apply the RCMA Color Process foundation but it's just an experiment.
But I wanted to know do I absolutely need the cleanser also? Or can I just use some cheaper method to clean it.
Also, might as well ask this instead of making a million threads.
If you have tried the RCMA foundation, how do you apply it for full coverage? I'm really liking the sample I have, just want to work with it and find out the best way to get the look I want.

Awesome do you have any brush recommendations?
And it's really tiny I've used it 3 times and could probably get 3 more out of it though since a little goes a long way.

This is kind of a lame comparison lol but a thought a picture would help. And it was 3$ per sample

Thanks I will look into that:) I need a really good foundation brush.
And I got it off the RCMA site, which can be kind of confusing and weird to navigate in my opinion. I actually didn't think to look on CRC!

I have the bb and it literally saved my life when my skin was going through a transitional phase from oily to dry/flaky. The buffing motion I use with my brushes only made the flaking more noticeable. Not to mention my foundation application time was cut in half since it's so easy to just spread and bounce on the skin. As for maintenance, I bought it with the solid cleanser and it takes off the stains. However I'm the kind of person who needs to wash it after every use so the stains don't have the time to "sink in"

Thanks Melanie! If I get it I will probably just buy the cleanser to be safe :)

I don't actually have a beauty blender (if you decide to get one I'd be interested in hearing how you like it!) but in one of the tutorials for the RCMA foundation (I believe it's the tutorial that Kitty posts about the foundation but I'm not sure if it was that one, as I watched a LOOT of tutorials before I bought my RCMA foundation) the tutorial guy mentioned that using a damp sponge to apply the foundation isn't the best method because the fillers in RCMA are waxes and oils which doesn't mix well with the dampness of a sponge, because oil and water don't mix and all that (I believe you're supposed to dampen the beauty blender...correct me if I'm wrong). So I don't know if it would end up applying bad, as I've never actually tried using that method, but I just thought I'd let you know what I've heard. :)

This is the tutorial that Kitty recommended that really helped me! http://youtu.be/AvVWdY6bd5U.

I got the beauty blender, and I use Neutrogena's Ultra Gentle face cleanser with it. I don't use the blender on the daily, but I haven't noticed it changing in any way (except when I wash it a bunch of the color comes out, but that might be because I have the red one) but the girl at the counter at sephora (after she gave me a look for asking about regular bar soap) said to use a regular brush cleaner, but atlas I used bar soap for my brushes. So when I looked it up everyone said to use a gentle face wash or baby shampoo! :)

@Jaime Yes, thats the tutorial! He's an amazing MUA, he has a very educational FB page if you ever want to get more tips.

I have dry skin and apply my foundation the way it's done in the tutorial.
I also did try out using my BeautyBlender... do not recommend under any circumstances. The BB sucks up the RCMA like a vacuum. If you want to use a BB I recommend doing so like in the tutorial and apply it first with a flat paddle brush and use the BeautyBlender to blend it out. I apply my embryolisse lait creme concentrate to my BB instead of water when I do.

Thank you girls so much! I'm glad you ladies shared that with me before purchasing. Jamie thanks for posting the tutorial and kitty for warning me about the BB. Maybe I will just wait a while on that and invest in a good brush.
Thank you Sadie:) I have a regular brush cleaner so that's convenient

Hey I actually used my rcma cream foundation with a beauty blender. I sprayed it with Mac Fix+ (I saw Mac Daddy (makeup artist) use it on his live tutorials). I really like the coverage but I feel I'm "wasting" the spray. I haven't actually used it with a brush. And the BB will definitely not work dampened with water or dry, but like in the video he mentioned you could spray the sponge with setting spray :)

I don't own the rcma foundation but have been planning on purchasing it. I do own a beauty blender and love it in general, of course I can't speak on using it with the rcma but I feel it's worth it and gives my skin a flawless finish. Sometimes I only use my BB & sometimes I'll just apply it with a brush then use my BB to finish it off giving that flawless look it helps me achieve. I own the liquid and solid cleanser, do I think it's absolutely necessary? no. but I think it's a great cleanser & I prefer using it over other cleansers and usually they have deals if you buy them in a package sold together

I've used the beauty blender for years and I only started buying the blender cleanser in the last few months - previously I used the average brush cleanser and sometimes my face cleanser but they never seem to clean the beauty blender in its entirety. The cleanser made for the blender removed all the stains and gets rid of all the excess product inside!
