I had bought the Estee Lauder foundation and its too drying for my skin. It clings to my dry patches so I will be returning the foundation, which sucks because I love the longevity but oh well.

Anyways, I just bought the loreal lumi which I really do like but it doesn't last too long on my face. Is there any high end foundation that last 8 hours or more that is specifically for dry skin?

Are you liking it so far?

I really do obviously I know I just have to moisturize and prime before but it looks very very nice.

I'd recommend Nars Sheer Glow or even Mac's Sculpt foundation!

Jojoba oil helps a lot too!
Face wash > jojoba oil> mosturizer (Cetaphil or Cerave)

Why don't you get a hydrating primer instead of returning the foundation? I mean if you like it

I used to have dry patches in winter, but I don't anymore if I use Lancome Genifique serum 2 times a day. Regarding foundation, Bobbi Brown has excellent ones for dry skin.

I agree with Gisell. Laura Mercier has a great primer for dry skin. And I know Too Faced came out with a new one as well that is perfect for dry skin.

Makeup Forever HD, Clinique SuperMoisture or Even Better, Laura Mercier Silk Cream, Nars Sheer Glow (good but broke me out 😔 so try samples before buying any foundation, no matter the brand). I recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizing Cream or Lotion, I use this and it really helps my makeup go on smoother. As for primer I hated the new Too Faced Hangover Primer, it was basically like a light moisturizer not a primer and it made my foundation separate really bad. I have tried several other high end and drugstore brands and my favorite primer is definitely L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer (skinny white bottle), it makes my skin look amazing.

Thank you all so much. I saw on YouTube by Wayne goss that if you add jojoba oil or almond oil in your foundation it was help. So I will try that and I will also purchase loreal lumi primer too. Any other primer I can purchase to hydrate my skin?

There is only so much a primer can do to a foundation. Estee Lauder (I'm assuming Double Wear) is great but its intended for combo/oily skin types. A primer is just going to help your makeup stay on longer and make it look better but its not going to change how a foundation will be on your skin especially if you have dry skin. I liked Nyx and Elf Primers but they both made me breakout. I believe Sephora (their brand) makes a good hydrating primer for dry skin, but I have not tried, just seen good reviews. But like I said earlier I have tried so many and L'Oreal's is my fav. I've found that when it comes to most makeup, you just have to play around and figure out what works best for you. Another thing that you may want to try is Mineral Foundations. I use Merle Norman and it looks amazing for my dry skin (I still use primer and also concealer if I need it) and I get the most compliments when I wear mineral. Other brands that have good ones are Tarte and Philosophy, I don't like Bare Minerals... Its weird because you would think that the powder would look bad on dry skin but I think it looks better than liquid and people are always asking what I use.

I also get really good coverage with mineral foundations...
