Hello everyone. I am curious the best way everyone cleans there makeup brushes?

I clean mine with olive oil and dish soap mixed (you can you baby shampoo as well though). It cleans them really well, just make sure to dry them upside down so water doesn't seep into the handle of the brush!

@Luke...does it make them full and fluffy? lol I use my my gel based facial cleanser that doesn't contain any active ingredients (not trying to dry them out).

My bronzer brush is so fluffy after haha.

I might have to try that Luke on my bronzer brush. It takes a few uses before mine gets fluffy and by then I have to wash it. :/

Do you let them soak or do you rub them?

Don't soak them, if the ferrule gets really wet the glue will loosen and you'll likely end up with a brush that sheds. I like to use a brush shampoo. I put some in my palm then swirl/rub my brush back and forth to work the shampoo throughout before rinsing it.

I was mine with a gentle soap and these DIY cleaning boards. I bought 3 small cutting boards at Walmart and used a hot glue gun to make the patterns. The patterns help get the build up off easier then with my hands and saves my hands from being in water...

Tiffany that is such a great idea! I'm totally making one of those for myself!

Total cost out of pocket was $3 , since I already have a glue gun and glue at home. best part is the glue doesn't come off and the cutting boards have handles so they can be hung. Saw something similar on a DIY YouTube video. I have made a thread about making these but got no responses.

Baby shampoo is my fav!

Thanks... I usually alternate soaps when cleaning my brushes. I like to use antibacterial soap most of the time. I don't particularly care for the smell of most baby shampoos. I really like Ajax dish soap surprisingly...
