I have medium textured hair. What temperature do you use on your flat iron? Is 450 too hot?

450 should be way too hot. I don't go above 410 and I've got heavy thick hair.and try to only do 2 passes. try lowest setting first and see if it works before increasing the temp.xo.

The highest temp should be reserved for special occasions only! You'll probably be fine in the 275-350 range.
