I would personally just make your own saline solution
I use 1/4 teaspoon of non iodized sea salt with a cup of warm/hot water

I preferred using Hydrogen Peroxide or Rubbing Alcohol on my piercings, as I'm easily prone to infections and these helped keep them away!

Yo! resident "piercing guru" on here, as I have been called in the past...
you could use pre mixed saline, but it gets stupidly expensive, I use it for the first 3 days only, and I actually use a mist saline nose spray (make sure you get one WITHOUT aloe), after that, I buy a jug of distilled water and mix with 38 g of non iodized sea salt.
unfortunately, peroxide or rubbing alcohol is too harsh for the skin, and actually slows down the healing process.

And, your sea salt is non iodized, it states that it "does not supply iodine, a necessary nutrient"

Yeah rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide are far too harsh for the skin to be used for cleaning piercings, you can deteriorate the skin surrounding the piercing. The saline solution you have should work fine, you can also use contact solution.

Can you show us a pic of your piercing please? saline solution is the best thing to use

Note: my only issue with the wound wash is that it's a heavy stream and not a light mist.

Yeah I only use a salt saline solution on my piercings :) I got my medusa done a week ago and still have to use it for another 3 weeks haha.

Well I'm glad you saw my thread Harlyn! (: and thank you I thought the salt was but I wanted to make sure it meant the same thing. If I just sprayed the wash onto a cotton ball and applied it that way would it be better?
Feb 28, 2015
Harlyn T.
Do you have gauze pads? I would worry about pieces of the cotton ball getting stuck to the stud.

No I'll try to get some though!

I used gauze wrapped around a cotton swab to clean my tragus, but when I get my conch punch I'll only be using gauze pads, merely because the punch takes a chunk out of cartilage.

I have my conch pierced a month ago, you have no issues with cotton balls but gauze is a really good idea

No mater what you do don't use alcohol , hydrogen peroxide, or any products that have those ingredients.. I think those stuff are fine but you'd be better off using cold chamomile tea or making your own saline spray.
