So I asked about Fashion Majors a few days ago and I just recently found an amazing one near me! (a branch of the Art Institutes) I want to go there and complete their Bachelor of Arts Program in Fashion Merchandising/marketing. The problem is that the tuition for four years is a bit over $80,000 is that normal for an art based school? Where else could I look into?

Try to find one in your state. FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) is a good fashion school. Idk their tuition though.

If you break it down as $20,000 a school year, that unfortunately is normal for art school. I'd go so far as to say it's mid-range :/ But if it's the Art Institute or an offshoot of it, you will be getting the finest education that money can buy, and their career placement after graduation is incomparable!

There is also a FIDM near me as well! They seem to have two year programs which would be about half the cost of the AI but which one would be better for me to attend?

Tbh I haven't heard great thins coming from the art institute lately, so I would totally recommend looking into more affordable schools with fashion majors. You can call and schedule appointments with reps from the departments to talk about the programs as well as look online for reviews of professors and departments!

They are a for-profit school so that is why the tuition is where its at. I would look at FIDM since there are far more contacts in the industry linked to that school than most other schools. I have a relative who graduated from the FIDM Los Angeles (downtown location) and was very happy with the school and instructors.

So apparently the location of FIDM near me is just s service office. The only campuses are in Cali?

Hmmm. Idk. I guess so. I never heard of them anywhere else. But don't be afraid to move away from home in order to pursue your dream. Never let your fear decide your fate. :)
