can you use nail Polish with Gel nails? I have a home gel nails kit I got from the chemist, but I want some colour.
can I paint my nails first then do the gel over the polish, or would that react to the gel and not work properly?
thanks for the help.
I often do this with a home gel kit I bought for about £6! I generally use a base coat, then 2 coats of polish, then the gel on top according to the packet instructions. I then keep it looking glossy with a bit of top coat every few days. It doesn't tend to look too much like a gel mani, more just really glossy polish that stays in place a lot longer than usual. The method I use tends to last about a week, although it will lose it's shine quicker than an actual gel mani. I only tend to notice chipping if I neglect freshening up the top coat.
I use the nails inc. Kensington caviar base coat (I also use the top coat version), but I've also used cheap drugstore ridge filler in the past. Even a coat of clear polish would suffice I should think.
