Your Much Needed Opinion On This?

Okay, so I'm having a bit of a dilemma and I have a few questions for you all, life and beauty concerned intertwined into one!

1.) Would you let your 15 year old daughter go to prom as a freshman when asked by a senior? Going as just friends, and her best friend (who is also a freshman) is going as well, but with a junior...

2.) Short dress, long dress? Not a lot of freshman get asked, I don't believe and we need to figure out how to dress.

3.) Hair and makeup?

Thank you! And also, just for reference, the prom theme is Great Gatsby but I don't think that people will be dressing strictly to that rule! xx

I am jealous of her theme! 1). I think it's okay. Just have time limits set up with her and know all the people she will be with!
2). Since this she is a freshman. I'd suggest whatever she likes. When I went to prom years ago tradition was long and unique dresses were short. So it's really up to what she likes! I'll look for some pictures to post!

I also suggest pinterest for ideas! That's what I'm going off of. But I found this via pinterest. Since its Gatsby themed it's short and whimsical. Which in Gatsby's time was the style (short hair). This is more modern and elegant for prom.

Thank you so much! It's coming up in a month or so, so she's rushing around for dresses and hair ideas! :) xx

Yeah since its her freshman year and one day she will have her senior prom maybe ask friends to borrow dresses. I was a sophomore who went to the senior prom and I borrowed a gorgeous dress so could save a bit. So just another idea :) I'm sure she will look gorgeous!

I would probably let her go but maybe not for after festivities!! (Idk where your from but in my high school we made a weekend out of it and went to a lake house for the weekend! ). I will also say I went to our prom as a junior (at my school we didn't have a jr prom so only seniors go unless they ask a junior) and it was fun but it really took the excitement out of it for my senior year :( but that hair is beautiful!! I'd love to see pics when she's ready!!

I would let her go, but just know that in SOME places, it's courtesy to wear a short dress if you're a guest to the prom, because it let's the seniors have their day with longer dresses or whatever. Not saying that it's like that where you live, but kids at the high schools where I live are pretty serious about it.
