Finding the Perfect Nude Lip?

So I don't have a nude lipstick because I've never really felt the need to have one. However I want to start playing around with color and bolder looks on my eyes more so I'm thinking I'll need a nude lipstick to wear with them.

Is there a certain technique or rule to follow when picking a nude lipstick?

I've been looking at either the Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color in Nude or the Lorac Alter Ego Lipstick in Socialite.

I'm a similar skintone to you and currently use the YSL rouge volupte shine in No.9 as my go to nude at the moment. Though Lipstick Queen's Pinky Nude Sinner or Mac's Pure Zen (lighter than the other two) also work nicely for me.

I think the key for nude lips with lighter skintones is that nude doesn't mean light. I tend to go for pinky nudes rather than your beiges as they wash me out, which is the same for very light shades too. Go for pink or coral nudes rather than beige.

Socialite is really beautiful! Also, if you want to try a cheaper nude before you commit more money to a higher end one, the nyx matte cream in stockholm is GORGEOUS and really comfortable to wear. And it's somewhere between a beige nude and a pink nude, so it's kind of perfect. Sonia kashuk makes a pretty nude in the matte crayon line but I'm blanking on the name. I think it might be nudey nude.

An easy way to find a good nude lipstick is to go two shades lighter or darker than your natural color :)

I think you just have to play around to find the right nude for you. (: Like for me, I can only wear brown or peachy nudes because pink nudes make my teeth look yellow, and it also has to be a darker nude because I find that lighter nudes just looks like concealer on my lips.
