So, I'm trying to plan my schedule for senior prom and I really would love to go to Mac to get my makeup done, as I've gone to multiple other salons and gotten it done after my hair and hated it. Anyways, say...I HAVE to be at pictures by 5. Prom doesn't even start until 7. I'm planning on getting an updo that would take about 45 minutes, and I live about 15 from the nearest MAC. My makeup never stays on as long as I want it to and I get oily very fast, ESPECIALLY lipstick. Should I get my hair or makeup done first? I feel like 3:30-3:45 is an acceptable hair time, but I just don't know.
Sorry, bunch of numbers and this post is basically a mess, but I was wondering what you guys would do!
ps, here's a picture of my dress (it's really pretty and I feel like showing off lol)

It depends on what you're comfortable with. I normally do my makeup first and then my hair so I can pin my hair out of the way when I'm applying my makeup. I'd say get your makeup done first, ask for advice on how to do little touch ups along the way and then do your hair. You can reapply face powder and lipstick when needed. And this way it'll be a lot easier for the makeup artist to do their job :) Your dress is stunning!! I hope you have a great time Beautiful!! :) Xx

I think it'll be fine to do your hair first. Then your hair is out of the way. Also, when you get your makeup done at MAC it is for purchases so I would buy the lipstick they use on you so you can touch up, a powder and anything else you liked that they used or are interested in. HAVE FUN!

I would definitely get my hair done first then makeup!

I would get my makeup done first so you can completely get it out of the way. this insures that the person doing your makeup won't have any trouble. then get your hair done.

Love the dress! I would recommend doing your hair first and makeup second. Definitely purchase the essentials of your look that day so you can have it for touch ups. You'll be taking pictures all night :)

So in reality Sweetie, it's whatever you're comfortable with. If you'd rather not have makeup on all day and have to worry about it smudging and what not, do it last. If you'd rather not worry about the wind messing up your hair all day, do that last :) It's all about what you're comfortable with and what you want to deal with more that day :)
