Contouring with concealers

I am trying contouring my face and I need a help. If I am contouring my face with concealers, should I use foundation too??

Personally, I think concealers are too thick to contour with. I use a Mac BB cream to contour in about 2 shades darker than my skin tone.

A lot of people do apply foundation first then contour but you don't have to.
