I really do not want to go on birth control, nor any other acne medication (which I fear will probably make my case worse). Has anyone tried the caveman regimen? And how do you go about your routine (rinse with water? moisturize? Or just nothing?)

I have no idea what the "caveman regimen" is but I'm assuming you're having problems with skincare. What's your routine like now?

I've read articles where people have done nothing. I started out doing nothing and then went to the OCM. But both, hands down (coming from a background of terrible skin, prescription acne medications, oily skin, large pores) since puberty, the caveman/OCM has been the single best thing I ever did for my face and it worked. But as many people will say, it doesn't work for everyone. My experience though, it worked. Went with nothing for a month or so and then to the OCM.

I would try it you have nothing to lose and it could be the one thing that clears your skin.

Caveman regimen, is basically when you either only splash your face with water to "cleanse" or literally do nothing to your face at all -which lets all your natural oils do its work (: Right now I have been using Dr. bronners teatree soap, (in hopes it would help to come back from OCM (which worked for all of my face except for my forehead -.- ). But the tea tree soap is super drying, even diluted. So I'm really wondering if the caveman regimen could just be the right thing to do now (:
And thank you AJ

I've gradually stopped using cleanser over the last year (unless I wear foundation, then it's ocm followed by a bit of tea tree face wash from trader joes) and it's been amazing. I had a horrible reaction to a cerave/cetephil routine I tried last summer and this has been the answer. I can't imagine not moisturizing though :/

For the last six months I have been using only a washcloth and warm water to wash my face. and I only use a moisturizer afterwards. I do this when I first wake up and right before I go to sleep. Honestly I have the absolute best skin I have ever had and I have struggled with acne all of my life. I would try it for a few months and see what happens.

It's great if you don't use any makeup. If you wear makeup, you need to remove it and cleanse or you'll just trap it in there (even if you're washing with a cloth, you won't get it all without cleanser) and makeup removers aren't good for the skin so they need to be cleansed off. They usually have an oil like baby oil in it and can super easily trap dirt with it.

The only way you'll know if it works for your skin is if you try it. But if you wear makeup a lot, I wouldn't try it and I would just find a routine that works for your skin

Well, it works for my boyfriend. All he does is wash his face with water and a washcloth. He has like perfect skin, it pisses me off lol.

BUT also the cleansers by the brand "Simple" do wonders for your skin too.
