I recently got acrylic taken off & I know I'll never get this again! It was awful to get off! Does anyone have any acrylic stories/advice? Will post a pic of my nails before I fixed them!

Wow, mine never looked like that. Did you do it yourself? How long did you have them on?

You will have to cut them as they're really soft and bend&I start using a nail hardner to apply to strengthen your nails that's what I did and they eventually improve!

I feel your pain. I got my nails done for a special occasion a couple months ago. I went back in a few weeks later to get them removed from the same woman who did them. I got home & everything seemed fine but then my nails started to break off even though I took very good care of them. I'm still dealing with this problem. My nails have always been fairly long but every time they start to grow back out they just break off again. But it looks like you took your own acrylics off which seems to have ruined your nails ): Maybe Olivia will comment on this and give you some tips on how to get them back to good health.(:

Acrylics are always going to damage your nails no matter what you do really. Mine weren't as bad as this though, you may want to consider going to a different salon because they shouldn't be that bad.

I've only gotten acrylic once, and it was awful. I used acetone to properly soak them off (like shellac) and it was just terrible. The lady at the salon had sanded them down so much it took me over 5 months for them to get back to normal :/

How and what did you use to take them off??
acrylic can damage your nails but mine have never looked like that. I've been doing my own forever.

did you have them professionally removed or did you do it yourself? if you did it at home one tip to use is to soak them in acetone and gently pry them off with an orange stick and then use a fine board to sand them down.

I agree with the ladies, I uses to get acrylics pretty religiously and nine never looked like that! A few years ago my nail tech did suggest liquid gels over acrylics though and they were amazing! the only reason I don't have them on now is because I couldn't have them on for esthetics school and state boards, but I'm planning on getting them back on soon. they didn't damage my nails like acrylics did. they lasted longer in between fills & looked so much better imo than acrylics towards the end before each fill. I felt like acrylics would yellow or stain and the Polish would chip. So definitely take care of your nails because they look very damaged and if you ever want that look again of longer fake nails I'd go to a different place and ask about liquid gels instead.

Mine haven't looked like that either! I get my nails done all the time, and have been for a long while now. I sometimes do mine myself and they are never as bad as this! Did you remove them properly? Or did the salon remove them? How long did you have them on for? I suggest going to a different salon next time. It may not be the salon though, did they prime and dehydrate your nails before applying acrylic? âœ‹

Don't every try to pull or been them off, soak a cotton back with acetone nail polish remover & place it on your nail after that wrap your finger in aluminum foil for a couple minutes, open the wrap & let it air out then wrap it again, & repeat
You could dampen the cotton ball more if needed

The exact same happened to me,I used the acetone remover like the salon told me to but I still resulted with awful looking nails! you can get them removed professionally at the salon you had them done most of the time x
