Hey guys, I'm not an expert with makeup (I wear very minimal), so forgive my lack of knowledge. Well anyway, I'm reading in different topics that people are wearing both products at the same time. I have never used BB cream, so I may not have a full understanding of it but...if you're going to put on foundation anyway, what's the point in putting on BB cream in the first place?

No. It's overpowering to wear both, and wasteful. It also is more likely to clog your pores.

No? Because than its just losing the purpose of the BB cream, BB cream is originally used to give you light coverage so if your putting foundation over it than there is no sense in even using the BB cream.

Abbey and Deedra that's exactly what I was thinking!!

I wear a small amount of BB cream with foundation on top. It doesn't clog my pores and it makes my skin look very smooth and clean but you need to be sure to wash your face very thoroughly before you go to bed.

I use Loreal BB cream w/ Mac Studio Fix Fluid on top for very full coverage for certain occasions.

I use maybelline dream fresh BB cream then a light layer of MAC studio sculpt foundation. I'll apply the foundation very minimally with a buffing brush or a beauty blender (wet) so it finishes nicely. I have bad skin so I like the extra coverage and I'd rather wear it that way than with just one thick layer of foundation.

I do I wear maybeleene dream fresh bb cream an mac studio fix fluid on top as its one of the only foundations that don't make the bb cream look cake or streaky do just experement

I sometimes mix my Skin 79 with a little clinique foundation for color. Or, if I want a more dewy look, I might mix a touch of Benefits high beam with the BB cream.

I do. Skin 79 orange and clinic city base. It stays on all day. Which is great cause I'm a nurse and work 12 hour shifts

Sometimes I do. If I need a little extra coverage instead of using concealer, and some spots I will use a little bit of the foundation and let it dry and then I will go over with a stippling brush with my beauty balm

I use Rachel K CC cream together with their CC Mineral Powder cos the CC cream alone is a tad too light for my skin tone, it doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores & has great staying power

I do for special nights out, basically use the BB Cream in place of a primer. Perfect flawless look and its full coverage and long lasting I wouldn't do it every day though. I do tend to do it for work if I am having a really bad face day - but that is very rare.

BB creams can be used as a face primer (the stuff that primes your face and helps your foundation stick to it and perform better) and sometimes BB creams are even advertised to be used as a primer if you desire. The American BBs are more like Tinted Moisturizers (TMs) which don't have a lot of coverage, so its nice to layer your foundation on top for added coverage. Its all about experimenting and seeing what works for you. I'll use my L'oreal BB underneath my Garnier BB to add a bit of a primer and more coverage under the Garnier. That's what I like about BB's they have a lot of benefits and many ways to wear/use them.
