I'm excited for this but at the same time I don't know. selena had a huge fan base and it sucks because a lot of her fans can't afford mac and it's really not fair to everyone.

I agree with Justine. She never seemed like a Mac type of girl, I mean after she got a big fan base and was making money I'm sure she bought some, but I dunno. Just my thoughts.
It's nice of Mac to do, and I heard they might do an aaliyah collection too, or at least people are petitioning for it. I will buy a piece if the packaging is unique and the colors aren't just repackaged.

It's great to see her still have an effect on other's til this day.I remember watching all the sadness happen on the news the day she past in 95.So many have said her lipstick was from Chanel so I'm sure she used many brands to achieve it all, she was a Fashionista of all the glam and I'm sure Mac was part of it like many other's. I'm excited to see what they come up with. :)

I understand that alma. I wasn't alive yet when she passed, but my sister loved her and she was played a lot in my house growing up. It was a big shock and cry fest when 10 year old me asked why she doesn't come do a show in my city and finding out, especially since I got to hear all the details that took weeks/months to find out all at once.
But I always thought of her as fashion prioritied. Like the type of girl who doesn't care if her hairs a mess or she has no makeup on, as long as she has the right outfit. Of course being a celebrity you kind of have to amp up the glam all the time, and I don't think I've ever seen pictures of her without at least lipstick on.
I kind of hate that they put out teasers months ahead, I want to see what the collection is lol.

Lol I understand. 95 was the year my mom got "exclusive" with my dad. And then began bugging him about how she wanted another child whether it was with him or not lol. Time is weird, how it feels so long in the present but years back seems like yesterday lol. Like I can remember nearly 9 years ago when my sister told me about Selena, and it doesn't feel like that long ago at all.
I'd love for Mac to do collections on other dead artists as well, if this one goes well. Like I said above there's petitions for Aaliyah and Brittany Murphy to be next

Lol ya it's crazy,I'm glad you remember her at such a young age, that's a cute story. I had my daughter in 97 and it's so hard to see how fast she's grown and now 18.I want mac to come out with a Cher collection, Diana Ross or Madonna since they made Russian red just for her so I think a Huge Thank you should be in order. I want so many celebs to have a collection, they just need to get on it lol. :)

There's so many artists that they should collaborate with, but it's bizarre who they choose. Like Rihanna, love her, but she really only wears makeup for events. She might be seen in maaaaybe red lipstick but that's pretty much it if she's not performing. And so I thought it was really bizarre to pick her. It was even weirder when they did Brooke shields. They don't tend to go with people who wear lots or creative makeup, which I think is weird. I mean when they did the Hayley Williams one, I thought maybe they'd go a bit funkier but it was just orange and corals, when she's known for going with super intense theatrical type makeup on a daily basis. I just find they're not doing as much as they could be.

I loved the Brooke Shields collection, she was a model and well known for her brows in the 80's so to me it made sense lol. Those 80's inspired colors gave tribute to her look.I agree the Hayley look could have been way more creative same goes for Rocky Horror. The last most awesome collection was the Heatherette collection that was insanely good.

Oh yeah, she was an amazing model and her brows are quite famous, but she had like 3(maybe 4?) eyeshadow palletes, I think there was 3 lip palettes, nail polish, lipstick etc. And they just repackaged the brow pencils lol. Whereas hayley Williams had like 5 total products. And they weren't packaged differently. Like I feel they are bringing people in for the wrong collabs, if they had gone with brow and nude type of look, and then something crazy colorful for hayley. Like it just doesn't make sense to me, it'd be like asking lady Gaga in her theatrical makeup days to just do a nude eyeshadow palette. It just doesn't make sense to me, I'd do it so differently if I got to design them lol
