Hello ladies! I have a question. I've had a constant struggle with rosacea since as long as I can remember. I went to a dermatologist in January and he put me on doxycycline and it's worked tremendously these past few months. For a topical treatment he gave me epiduo. And the only thing he wants me to wash my face with is a bar soap. The problem with that is that my face is actually really oily and my face just does not feel clean when I just wash it with my bar soap and my fingers. I was wondering if a clarisonic would be okay for my sensitive skin? My skin is extremely extremely sensitive. I was also wondering if you ladies know any toners that would not irritate my skin? I was using an Olay one with witch hazel in it and I used it for maybe 4-5 days and last night it burned my face horribly. Any suggestions?

I'd say no to the clarisonic.

I find if I use anything that creates too much friction on my face makes any redness I have worse. I don't have rosacea though.

In regard to toners, la roche posay do some lovely ones (I use serozinc personally but this may be a bit too much for your skin) but the brand was developed with sensitive skin in mind so that might be one to look into.

I agree with la roche posay serozinc, it's great for oily sensitive skin. Vichy also make great toners too.

I personally love my clarisonic and would say to use it! If you get any irritation, then stop, but it always will clean your skin better than fingers can.

I say yes to the clarisonic. I have rosacea too and I love it. I don't use it daily because it's too much for my skin but 2-3 times a week is perfect for me and they also have different brush heads that you can use and you can lower the time and speed of some of the brushes (I have the Aria and you can adjust time and speed).
I'd say go for it.

I have rosacea as well and I hated the Clarisonic. Even the gentle brush heads irritated and scratched my face. I use a Foreo Luna in the Sensitive model and it's great. You do need to remove your makeup first, though.
For skincare, I use the brand Avene. You might be interested in the Mattifying Fluid

For rosacea and the clarisonic, it really just depends on your skin. You may be able to get away with using one but definitely not nightly. May I ask what bar soap he told you to wash your face with? Most bar soaps are not gentle at all and the ingredient in them can be quite damaging to your skin. A toner is used to tone your skin, to balance your skins pH level. The use of bar soap can highly alter your skins natural pH level causing more damage, so yes a toner would be helpful but I'd still suggest asking about another cleanser that won't throw off your pH level and give you a better clean, because as you've noticed they don't thoroughly cleanse your skin. A lot of products I use on my face are naturally pH balanced so I don't need a toner as bad which is nice, but I like Dermalogica multi active toner

I use the dove bar soap for sensitive skin, Sarah! And as for you other ladies thank you so so much for your input! Much appreciated! :)

Lush toners are very gentle.

I don't have experience with the clarisonic so I'm not sure on that one. as for the bar soap I don't know why he would suggest that because most of them are very damaging on your face and can make your face more oily. I have oily and extremely sensitive skin and I use the body shop's aloe vera toner and I also use Modere toner (this is an online retail brand that I work for). both are amazing and don't dry out your skin or irritate it.

I have rosacea and I use the clarisonic Mia 2 twice or three times per week. If I don't, I get a build up of dead skin cells on my forehead and sides of my nose. I just don't go nuts with it, I use cera-ve hydrating cleanser, moisturize afterward, and wear sunscreen during the day. I hope you give it a try... If it's too much for your face, just use it once a week and use it for your body/feet the other days so you feel like it's worth the investment.
