I personally wouldn't use Pantene for a shampoo and conditioner (I love their hairsprays but I've read of several peoples hair falling out from the shampoo...). Anyways I would recommend L'Oreal Ever- shampoo and conditioners. You want a sulfate free shampoo regardless of what you are wanting to do with your hair.

When was the last time you have a had your hair trimmed? That will make a huge improvement for damaged hair because no product or diy out there is going to get rid of damaged split ends.

Definitely do some deep conditioners. L'Oreal, Organix, and Macadamia are great. A lot of people use coconut oil but I personally don't, I'd rather use something that is made specifically for hair. I just feel like the coconut gets clogged up in my drain and just does nothing for my hair when I've tried it. I would do a mask about 3 times a week right now since your hair is really damaged and then do less often when it gets better. As far as other products go, definitely use an oil. I love Organix Moroccan Argan Oil.
