Dying my hair need advice.

Hi guys! So in dying my hair on Friday and am open to most suggestions I was thinking I would get some blonde highlights that sort of go into my ombré, does this sound good? I am extremely pale so dark colours would sort of wash me out. The picture is my hair now (it looks darker then it actually is.
