What can I do to make my skin less oily? When I wear makeup to school I feel oily within the first hour of wear it.

Do you use a pressed powder?

If you use a silicone based primer that could be a factor. Whenever I used a primer even for oily skin it would make my face feel heavy and much more oily.

Could try using a thinner amount of foundation and if you want more then let each layer dry beforehand.

If you're not moisturizing everyday that could cause the skin the produce more oil through out the day as well as washing your face too much.
I usually just use coconut oil and baby wipes to take off my makeup after school and then wash my face before bed. In the more if I'd just do a quick rinse and I haven't been as oily since I've done that about 3 years ago.

What's your skincare routine? Are you using a primer, setting powder, and a setting spray?

Is your foundation for oily skin? Do you use primer that is si posted to mattify your face? Pressed powder? Tried using pressed foundation? Do you have a right skin care routine for your skin type? Do you use toner in your skin care routine?

I use the urban decay skin foundation cause if I use foundation for oily skin if usually makes my face look cause I have some really dry spots, I do use pressed powder, I moisturizer every morning and night when I wash my face. I have a face wash and gel from the dermatologist that I use. I used to use a toner but I haven't since I started using the dermatologists face wash and cream.

I use pressed powder and setting spray. And aurora S. Do you have any recommendation of primers I can use cause I do use a silicone based primer which as you said could be making my skin oily.

TBH I skip primer for my face like 95% of the time just because they really just add an unnecessary layer of more oil.
Primer is meant to "1.lock in moisturize (moisturizers usually already have an emollient that does this)

2.make foundation apply smoothly(more about powder foundation, or people with drier skin whose foundation can get patchy)

3. "Last longer" this is definitely more for drier skin that can have an issue of foundation flaking off and fading due to that.

Others have more or less claims like filling in pores etc.
the thing is the silicones stay on top of the skin and sorta "dry" but silicones sort of do but have that smooth feel rather than oily feel. then you put on etc.

With oily skin, we start to produce more oil and it really loosens up or liquify a that layer of silicone and doing so it does the same with the foundation and before you know it your face feels a lot more oily, makeup seems heavier and if you were to accidentally touch your face it'd feel like you have layers of it on and it transfers a lot.

Which is why I usually skip primer and normally just use the "cooking"(been using for a few years now) method after foundation, it really sets the makeup and makes it last so much longer for oily skin and doesn't make my makeup feel so heavy.

If you feel you just HAVE TO use a primer then I'd try the BECCA one which I've heard a few people liking.
You could also try a more long wearing foundation, they're great for oily skin.
The new MAC Nourishing Waterproof one with the cooking method is AMAZING for oily skin. I used that through a long day of sweating and it didn't even budge nor did I have to touch up.
