Everytime I cut my fingernails I get hangnails and of course they always get infected. how can I get the hangnails out without torturing myself and how can I prevent it from happening again?? I have some really sore fingers!

Maybe try sharper nail clippers? You shouldn't get hangnails when you clip your nails. if you do get a hangnail clip it with the nail clippers instead of ripping or pulling them.

I always get these too. I have two at the moment. I find not picking at my skin helps. also, salt and hot water helps to draw out the infection!

Trim the nails a little longer then you want them then file them at a 45 degree angle it may help x

Thanks girls! I will try all the suggestions. you think maybe a good cuticle oil or cream would help as well? I used to keep my nails long but polish just doesn't hold up when a person washes as much dishes as I do. :))
