I have dark brown eyes as well and i think gold and purple always look good. If you want to use a brighter colour or neon, I would apply it like an eyeliner instead.

Pretty much you can pull off any shade of eyeshadow on brown eyes. Greens, purples, silvers/grays. And of course browns, coppers and gold are pretty too. But where as blue eyes mostly only "pop" with warm coppery tones, brown eyes are much more versatile! I always suggest playing with neutrals first, and as you figure out what looks suite you best then slowly add in pops of brighter colors!

I agree with Brittne Anderson Alyssa as well. You can also continue with your neutral shadows and pop your brown eyes with a colored liner...like navy blue, green or purple. Once you perfect your shadow routine, then you can "play" with all the fun vibrant shadow colors!! :-D

Look closely for traces of color usually in the outter edge. Whatever is there will look stunning.

shades that have a cranberry or wine tone are awesime. Think MAC's cranberry, fig2, color tatoo in pomegranate w&w copper penny, etc. I get tons of compliments when I wear shadows with these types of tones.
