Beauty Product Reviews

Best for cystic acne

Although I did eventually have to take Accutane to clear up my skin, this was probably the single most effective product I used during the five years that I struggled - and I tried EVERYTHING. The sulfur instantly reduced the size of zits, and as a bonus I often used it at night if I wanted to cover up my acne from friends or my boyfriend.

The perfect red!

I've searched high and low for the perfect Hollywood red, but somehow I always end up with a color that looks like a blood clot. Until now! This shade is classic and glamorous - and the brush is extremely user-friendly. No streaks or bubbles.

No-nonsense, effective balm

I used this balm while I was taking accutane, which is notorious for drying lips out to the point of cracking open and flaking wildly. It passed the test! A great product, which, when used many times a day, makes the lines on my lips completely disappear. A must-have for the winter time.

Not good for acne, great for under eyes

This concealer is very moist and a bit greasy, so I found it to be better for under eyes than for acne. Even when I set the concealer with powder over a pimple, it would more or less sweat off within a couple hours. Wouldn't recommend for any heavy duty concealing, but it added a lovely brightness when I used it under my eyes! Also decent for covering up sun freckles and the like.

Great coverage!

When I was having difficulty with cystic acne, this was pretty much the only drugstore make up that could hide both my active inflammation as well as scarring. As someone who has sensitive skin, I did not find it irritating. However since my skin has cleared up I've found the make up a little heavy for everyday use. It has a tendency to look a little cakey, even if blended in with fingertips. Would recommend for anyone who has facial scarring!

Too light for thick hair

My hair is naturally wavy and thick, and I didn't feel that this product was able to moisturize or condition it very well. I had to use a lot of it to even approximate the level of conditioning I get from thicker products. That said, I'm sure it works well for ladies with short hair who don't want a creamy, goopy conditioner but are still looking for moisture. Lovely smell as well!
