Beauty Product Reviews

perfect for people who need longevity of wear and complete coverage

This concealer saved my life when I was a bridesmaid for one of my best friend's wedding in Mexico a couple months ago. I was in a wedding party with honestly the most gorgeous women I know, and when I broke out in a totally crazy rash the day of the wedding I was totally panicking. I was calling my boyfriend trying to get him to bring me things to the bridal suite that I was praying would make my skin go back to normal when my darling friend said "try my concealer". As a makeup artist I am used to being the one giving advice to my friends, but when someone who I swear has never looked less than god-like tell you what concealer they're using, you know it's gotta be good.

I used this on my shoulders and chest where I had broken out and it not only did it cover naturally, but it also lasted all day and night and didn't transfer onto my dress at all. I stippled it on and buffed it with a Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57 and the day after I got home from Mexico I went and picked up my own tube because I simply had to have it!

STAPLE PRODUCT

Once again, another NARS Makeup Wardrobe Staple. As if the it doesn't already speak for itself being the #1 selling bronzer in the world, I am going to sing it's praises too. I use this on my brows, my eyes, as bronzer, I layer it with cooler blushes to warm them up, and I even once brushed a bit into my hair after getting a little over enthusiastic with the argan oil :s

Seriously I love this product and have for at least 10 years now. You absolutely MUST try this. You'll be glad you did.

Looks great, wears okay

I like this product for a few reasons. It is easy to find in a variety of retailers, so if you're in a pinch it's not hard to find. It also does give a amount of volume with somewhat clump-free application. What I'm not too crazy about is the fact that it dries out super quickly, flakes, pulls at the lashes, and if my eyes water at all (if it's windy, or if I sneeze for example) it really irritates my eyes. Also, when it flakes and gets in my eyes it causes the same stinging reaction.

So it looks great but doesn't doesn't last super long , it's easy to find in many stores, but isn't a great price, and it dries out and irritates my eyes. So why do I still give it 3 stars? I do because it looks great at first and honestly I can't even say that about a lot of mascaras. I am a picky girl and I know what I want. For someone less picky than me, this could be great. It's worth a try, so grab a mini from Sephora (they're pretty cheap I think) and give it a whirl.

HEAVENLY

This primer feels like heaven on my face and is heathy chick chic. Love it to pieces. It does all it says it will and more. If you like something silky but not too heavy this is the primer for you.

ICONIC MUST HAVE

Every woman should have this staple in their makeup wardrobe. See my review of the lengthening for more details, but basically I couldn't live without it. The primary difference between this and lengthening is the brush, and this one has fibres in it that really boost volume.

OBSESSED

This is an absolute staple in my makeup wardrobe. Hands down. Working with NARS in the past means that I have basically every product/tool that they sell. Seriously...I bought one of everything because I couldn't help but want to take everything home with me every day.

This product in particular is something that I still buy once a month to this day and absolutely wouldn't want to leave the house without it on. I am constantly asked if my lashes are real (I always have been regardless of what product I'm using) but what is truly my favourite thing about this is that it helps nourish my natural lashes and promote healthy grown and strength. It has nourishing oils in it that really make it a lash fortifier as much as a makeup product.

I love the fact that it is Gel based. I can wear it literally for 24 hours (hence "larger than life long wear"). It is plush, flexible, and stays glossy looking – which is what Francois Nars designed it to do, to minimise touch ups on set/photo shoots. One thing I actually showed my clients often in store was that I could rub my lashes with my finger and the product didn't smudge, transfer, lose pigment, and best of all my lashes bounced right back to where they were before I rubbed them! I honestly am obsessed with it. It is well worth the price.

One added note is that once when I was visiting my father he even noticed that my lashes looked great and commented on it. No lie. He asked if I was "wearing those fake things". Too funny.

Hands down this is a must have!
