Go from DAY to NIGHT!
I absolutely love this palette since it contains not only matte shadows but shimmery ones as well. The mind-blowing factor is that it comes with a 29 page booklet that shows you how to create smokey eyes-you won't buy this and get lost. And as I've always said, I love urban decay since all their eyeshadows are super-pigmented! You can't go wrong with this palette, its a must a have item!!
Just bought this palette the other day at ULTA and i have been loving it ever since. The color collections are perfect for various smokey eyes look and love how pigmented the eyeshadows are. It comes with a mini tutorial book which is great!
I like this palette! I was going to get the Naked palette, but come on guys, we have so many neutrals. Lol. This palette is the best of both worlds. You can create a smokey eyeand it comes with fun colors that we can actually use. We all need a purple, green, and blue eyeshadow. And it comes with that! You can still even create an everyday neutral eye. This palette is perfect for the girl who loves a good taupe eye and wants to experiment with color. Hey, it even comes with a tutorial book, perfect for the girl who loves to learn. For those who are urban decay collecters, i understand why you would not get this since there are repeats. But other than that, this is a nice palette. I just wish it wasn't so pricey!
I LOVE IT!
I would have to say that this palette is my 2nd favorite next to the original Naked Palette. This palette is more based on night time looks but there are a few day looks you can learn to create when using this palette. You can have a neutral/warm smokey eye, a fashion smokey eye, the classic smokey eye, and so much more. It is my ultimate smokey eye palette!
I'm new to wearing shadows and I've always liked the smokey eye, I just thought I couldn't wear it because my eyes are so small. I saw this pallet in Sephora and bought it because of the step-by-step book that came with it. I've had beautiful results and recommend this product to newbies as well as pro's.
Another fun palette to play with. I enjoy the tutorial booklet. I'm not really likely to wear these dark smokey looks on a day-to-day basis, but this palette contains every dark shade I could wish for. The neutrals also are excellent. I'm also quite happy aboutt he perfect blue shade.
if you looovee smoking up your eyeshadows, this is the palette for you! i love that it comes with a book so show you a few ideas and tell you step by step how and what to put on your eyes! i loooveee this palette for sure :)
I am so in love with this palette. There are so many different kinds of smoky eyes that you can do whether you want them to be subdued or dramatic. Something that's nice with this palette is that you get a how-to guide on some looks. This is probably my favorite palette of Urban Decay's up 'til now. I'm so glad I got it. Also, if you want to go for a more dramatic look take an use 24/7 eyeliner as a base to add more effect!! Awesome looks!!!
Very Versatile Palette
I love that this has a mix of neutrals and colours. I'm also happy with the inclusion of the matte shades, and that the shimmery ones aren't glittery (yay for no fall-out!). The packaging is also a plus, with the zip, making it perfect for travel.
Shade-by-shade (swatch photo attached)...
Kinky ~ Very smooth and buttery, easy to work with. For me, a near-perfect skintone shade (you can barely see it on my arm in the swatch; I'm a NARS SG Siberia).
Freestyle ~ Also very smooth and buttery and easy to work with. If you've a more medium skintone, this may be a good skintone shade for you.
Mushroom ~ Gorgeous taupeish colour.
Backdoor ~ Also very smooth and easy to work with. For dark-skinned beauties, this could be a skintone shade. For me, it's my perfect brow colour. \o/
Blackout ~ This is much better in terms of texture than the version in my Naked2 palette, which is a bit on the dry side.
Barlust ~ It's an easy shade to work with, but I'm not sure if I'll be using it much. It kind of reminds me a bit of shades from the Naked palettes. I may need to do some comparison swatching to see.
Rockstar ~ Gorgeous shimmery purple colour. I think mine is just a touch dry, though. Speaking of dry...
Evidence ~ I am disappointed. It is a gorgeous blue, but in order to get a visible swatch, I had to really work it. It is so dry. I sincerely hope the permanent version isn't like this. :(
Loaded ~ Much better in terms of texture. Great shimmery dark teal.
Asphalt ~ Fantastic gunmetal gray.
Perversion pencil eyeliner ~ It is much blacker than Urban Decay's other black eyeliner, Zero. It is very creamy and easy to work with, particularly on the lashline. It holds up better on the waterline than Zero, but it's still not great, in my view.
Awesome Smokey Palette
This has become one of my favorite palettes to go to. I love the neutrals up top and the colors on the bottom. It's an easy way to mix and match and still go together. The pigmentation is incredible. Blackout is definitely the best matte black in the makeup world. The only thing is that I wish there was a shimmery white to go with it.
