Amazing brushes!! I have the whole set and I am truly in LOVE with them! All brushes work absolutely great. Super affordable if you don't want to spend so much on high end brushes. These work just as well. I recommend everyone gives them a try!
I absolutely love these brushes. Real techniques are real value for money and they perform like you're high end brushes if not better. I would recommend this pack to anyone and please try these before going straight in with the high end brands.
All I wanted was to find a good stippling brush. I wanted to buy the E.L.F. stipple brush but I read reviews about it and ended up not purchasing it even if it was cheaper. Sigma is a bit pricey even if I want it, too (maybe in the future? lol) and I read that the Real Techniques stipple brush is great. I was going to buy that pink single brush since I already have other brushes but when this set went on sale, I just went for it and I'm happy to say that I don't regret it!
Real Techniques = fluffy, soft, good grip. Convenient packaging, too. Have not tried washing them yet so I'm not sure if they shed.
I bought these brushes because I have heard of them on Youtube, and I was looking for them for a while and they finally were shipped to places near me! I use the buffing brush for BB cream and foundation, and I use the contour brush for bronzer and powder. They are very easy to clean too. The brushes are nice quality, really soft, no stress and overall really nice brushes.
Good Value + Great Brushes
Love this set! The brushes are easy to clean and fantastic! I use them all on a daily basis but this gets a 4 star review because the flat foundation brush in this set is just too small in my opinion. I would recommend looking at this set in store to really see the size but otherwise it's fantastic.
I love these brushes! I got these brushes for Christmas and I was so excited to use them. The bristles are very soft and work with powder and cream formulas. I love the way they feel on the face, and I don't have to worry about any hair bristles being left on the face. I love that you can get these 4 brushes for a great price and they are perfect and essentials to use to help and create a flawless face makeup. The different sizes of the head of the brush is nice which can be helpful to use on a general area or to really focus on a particular area. I honestly can't think of any downfalls at this moment.
Great quality at a great price! SOOOO soft!
The Panoramic case makes it easy to store all my face brushes and it is excellent for hanging my brushes upside down to dry after I've deep-cleaned them.
I use eye shadows as contour colors so the size of the Contour Brush is perfect to dip into the small pans. The shape is designed well too- get the product on the tip of the brush then start blending it on the face. The longer bristles will place the color, the shorter bristles blend it out. Contouring is now effortless.
The Detailer Brush is heavily pinched at the ferrule so it is very flat. The bristles are cut to a filbert shape. The size and shape are conducive to blending eye liner along the lash line. You could also use it as a lip brush, but the long handle and lack of a cap make it less than purse-friendly. I use the Detailer Brush as an eye brush when I do glittery looks. I prefer to have the glitter on just the mobile lid and this brush works great to precisely apply a glitter base and then pack on glitter and/or loose pigments.
The buffing brush is round, flat-topped with a very slightly taper at the edges. When used with a powder foundation, it gives more coverage than the large, loose Powder Brush does, but less coverage than the smaller, more dense Expert Face Brush. I have also used this with less pigmented blushes and it does alright, but I would not recommend using it with ultra-pigmented ones like Nars Orgasm, unless you like the clown look.
I do not use flat foundation brushes so I gave the Pointed Foundation Brush to my friend.
All Real Techniques brushes are very easy to clean and dry quickly. None of the Real Techniques brushes I have have ever shed on me, nor are any of them stained from continued use of colored products.
I have 3 downsides to Real Techniques brushes:
1) If you use alcohol or an alcohol-based cleaner to spot-clean clean your synthetic brushes, be sure to keep it away from the rubbery/soft coating on the black handle- it will melt the coating off. It doesn't ruin the brush, but you will be left with a black, shiny plastic handle with sharpish edges (this happened to my Expert Face Brush).
2) The aluminum ferrule will dent relatively easily compared to steel ferrules of other brushes. Do NOT knock the brush on the side of your sink to shake the excess water out after you've washed any of your Real Techniques brushes- it will dent the crap out of it. Don't ask me how I know. ~sigh~
3). The brushes that come in sets are NOT also sold separately. So for example if you want the Contour Brush, you have to buy the Core Collection to get it. This is the only reason the set gets 4 stars instead of 5.
Overall Real Techniques brushes are high quality, ultra-soft brushes at a great price point. I would recommend them to anyone.
I have to say I am a beauty snob when it comes to brushes. Brushes out here in the Middle East are expensive - as they are usually imported. I ordered this set through Aramex from America (as ironically it was half the price of the uk) via amazon. I was not expecting that much but I was pleasantly surprised. (I had done a lot of research on Youtube - but seeing is believing). The contour brush and the buffing brush are amazing. The buffing brush gives an air brush effect. When your foundation is applied with a stippling brush and then buffed in with this brush the finish is perfect. They are easily cleaned and sturdy. I bought a set for my kit. I have to be honest. I haven't used the smaller brushes. There are other ones of similar shape that I prefer. But the whole kit is worth it for the contour and the buffing brush.
Great value for a great price! LOVE
I watch Pixiwoo on YouTube quite often & see a lot of their tutorials include these & other great brushes. Little did I know that Samantha Chapman was behind the collection. If you didn't know: (Samantha & her sister Nic do step by step makeup tutorials online under the name Pixiwoo). They show great easy techniques that are simple to follow. The brushes make my routine simpler & this Core Collection is one of the best. They are all synthetic and also cruelty free, MAJOR PLUS, & they are so affordable that anyone can look like a professional makeup artist has done their makeup! I am in love with all the sets & also the stippling, powder, & blush brushes are amazing as well. Thumbs UP!
