I really want to give it 5 STARS!
My skin type is Combination to Oily Skin (oily on my T-Zone only and rest of it is normal).
I bought it in TANGS, Singapore , last January. I knew about this thing from Paula's Choice review and it's said that this is one of the best foundation out there.
The package is luxurious and the price is somewhat expensive.
I got stromboli for my shade and it's just disappear onto my skin.
This one is blended very well (with brush, by the way I'm using Shiseido Foundation Brush or hand), the texture is runny, and it leaves a smooth silky satin finish on my skin. It's like a second skin.
I really want to love this foundation, but it makes my face (T-zone) oily after about 3-4 hours of wearing. I'm using Clinique DDMG and MAC Prep + Prime before it, and it still makes my face oily (Regularly, when I'm not using foundation and just put some sunscreen and moist. my face never gets oily).
It's not enhance pores or dry flakes I think and it's build able. Unfortunately, it's not photographed really well, so ur photo will show ur skin without make up (Yeah, it's just like a second skin).
But still, I really want to give this 5 stars. But, not for me I guess. But I'm still using it sometimes.
Full coverage liquid gold!
I love this product. It was the very first time I only had to use one foundation instead of two to get the right shade for me. I got it on sale and snapped up two backups. It is on the thicker side of foundations but easily feels like I am wearing nothing after a couple minutes. It lasts me about 8 hours before touch up is needed. I am acne prone around my chin and have had no problems with clogging with this product.
Sure, the name is a bit deceiving considering this foundation in medium to fuller coverage, but I bought this foundation well aware of this. Amazing colour ranges, I am a NC5 and Siberia is the lightest shade, a perfect shade for my snow white skin, it has strong yellow undeertones, lasts really well, (up to maybe 8 hours) - I have oily skin, so it does tend to fade around my t-zone depending on the weather etc, gives an amazing glow to the skin and is great for people who have acne prone skin like myself if you want to mask spots without making them look dry with matte cakey foundations and therefore more noticeable.
"Sheer glow"? What sheer glow? Theres nothing sheer or glowing about this stuff. Its a decent foundation, but its thick and almost has this matte feel and look to it. (I don't recommend this stuff to people who are prone to breakouts or acne).
I mean, the foundation itself has okay coverage and its a good color for my skin tone, but I just really don't get why its called sheer glow.
My Favorite Foundation
I originally purchased the matte version of this and it was a disaster! After a few recommendations, I decided to give NARS another try and to go with the Sheer Glow foundation. This foundation goes on smoothly and is really buildable. I apply this with a flat foundation brush. The coverage is light to medium and looks really natural and glowing. It lasts all day and makes me feel flawless. This foundation is great for everyone but especially for paler skintones. Recommended!
Not Worth The Hype.
I went into Sephora today to get color matched to some concealer and also to pick up some things for my Mom. The SA who was helping me had lovely, glowing, yet slightly matte skin, and when I asked what she used, she told me it was this foundation. She went ahead and got me color matched to this in Barcelona which is a tad too yellow, but none the less was the best shade available for me. (Note: I have already tried this product before, and returned it after a day or two because I just thought the price surpassed the quality, but since the SA looked so good, I figured she could give me some tips.)
I had already taken all my makeup off on one side of my face so we could see how good the concealer I was getting, covered, and after we finished she offered to apply the foundation to the side of my face.
1. This doesn't have a pump, and for $44.00 dollars that is unacceptable. I won't pay a penny more for an extra pump, and I can't risk breaking out because of bacteria entering the foundation.
2. It covers well ( Medium and Buildable) and blends somewhat nicely, but it settles into my pores and gives me the appearance of fine lines that I don't have with other foundations.
3. It sits on your skin. The SA used a Sephora Brush similar to my F82, and it just SAT on top of my skin, making it look very artificial and plastic whereas my other foundation can be blended in with ease and made to look very skin-like.
I thought maybe it was just the lack of preperation I had given my skin before we applied this, so I took a sample pot of it home, used primer, mositurizer, etc and it looked exactly the same. Heavy, flaky, etc. I will be sticking with my MUFE HD.
Light to medium coverage and dewy finish
I really, really like Nars Sheer Glow. The colour range is really good. Luxurious consistency. Fairly light coverage, but definitely buildable. Looks best when really massaged into the skin with clean, warm hands. Beautiful, radiant, glowy finish.
Holy Grail Foundation!
This has been my favorite foundation for almost a year now. I have normal/combo oily skin and it has just enough moisture but doesn't make me oily. The color matches my skin perfectly and makes me glow from within! It looks so natural and flawless on the skin. It gives a solid medium coverage but is buildable. Although it is pricey, my first bottle lasted 9 months, and I used it about 4 times a week. The only downfall is it does give a little flashback in photography, but its a perfect everyday or night out foundation. I would definitely recommend the splurge!
